Across the summer azure sky
the fairy snow seed doth fly
floating from the heavens down
summer snowdrifts on the ground
The cottonwood, a majestic tree
and yet, the rabbits pee on thee
the birds and squirrels they defecate
trees cannot escape their fate!
So silently they are made to suffer
releasing beautiful seeds that flutter
rabbits squirrels and birds - beware
cottonwood seeds that float on air
So innocently they float on by
but stick in throats, or in the eye
blinded rabbits, a choking squirrel
watched by this giggling girl
The tree revenges it’s plight
watching is sublime delight
What do we learn from this tree
Beware all those who pee on me!
